What does our library offer?
Accelerated Reader
Our school is an AR school, which means that we participate in the Accelerated Reader program to improve reading comprehension. Students are given a diagnostic test to determine their reading level range. Books in the library are labeled with the reading level. Students read the desired book and take a computerized quiz to test comprehension.
Student Assistant Program
Our library has student aides who assist other students in locating and circulating materials. Students who are interested in becoming library or classroom assistants should see Mrs. Romero for the application. Assistant positions are reserved for students who set an outstanding example for the student body both academically and behaviorally.
A Variety of Materials
The Cougar Library contains a multitude of fiction and non-fiction books, periodicals, reference materials, audio books, videos, books in Spanish, and music CD's. Students may also request materials by submitting the information on the "Student Wish List," located on the Information Table in the library.
