What is English?

This year, we are combining our Language Arts and Reading classes to form an English class. These subjects naturally go hand-in-hand with each other and we believe that they should be taught together as well.  By doing this, we allow ourselves to teach cross-curricularly, combining many skills in those subjects.  We focus on sharpening our skills as writers as well as becoming more proficient readers.

If there are any questions concerning my class rules, procedures, or homework policies, please check out my syllabus.  It should have all answers to any of those questions.  The final page was sent home with your student at the beginning of the school year to have signed by their parent/guardian, so hopefully you are already familiar with the operation of my classroom.

This calendar should help with your student's assignments. Most assignments are due the next class period that they have my class.
